Bermuda is famous for its sweet, nightly chorus of whistling frogs. In fact, Eleutherodactylus johnstonei have been on the island since they were accidentally introduced in the mid 1800s. During the day, these tiny, shy creatures are never to be found; after sunset, they emerge from hiding and trill happily for the entire island to hear. I was shocked and thrilled to find one in the shade of our garden shed yesterday and ran to grab my camera!
