Hello! So I recently answered a few questions to help a fellow festival-goer plan for this year’s Tomorrowworld. Thought I would post my answers here with the goal of helping you too!
1. Did you camp there?
Yes! And it was awesome. However, the parking situation was terrible. All General Admission campers had to park their vehicles in the general parking area and then walk with their camping gear to wherever they decided to set up tent. In a way this was good, because you were free to choose your “home”, but the walk was brutal. The Tomorrowworld 2013 camping set up looked like the letter “C”, with parking on both ends of the C and space for tents in between. Half of my group arrived early and set up tent almost directly in the middle of the C, meaning that we had a VERY long trek ahead of us. My advice is to bring some way to either drag your stuff (like on a tarp) or pull it behind you (in a cart or dolly).
Once camp is set up, it is AWESOME, and well worth the walk. We had a very large group, so we spread out over 5-6 large tents, with a communal table and sitting area in the middle. We were also directly across from the shops and food stalls at the entrance to the festival, which was really convenient.
2. Did you go to the gathering, if so how was it?
Yes, but only just barely. By the time we got through the lines at the entrance (sitting in the car in line, waiting at will call, waiting at check in, waiting to have our bags hand searched) the Gathering had already started. We basically ran to our tent with whatever we could carry from the car, dropped everything on the ground and ran inside the venue. We caught a bit of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. There were TONS of people there and everyone was pretty excited. Definitely people started to party on Thursday and went the entire Friday, Saturday, Sunday non-stop.
3. Were your things safe inside your tent when you weren’t there (if you camped)?
We didn’t have any problems with valuables going missing. Like most EDM festivals, everyone is there to have a good time and, for the most part, the level of respect among campers is very high. I’d recommend that you keep very important things (passports for example) in your locked car.
4. Are the food and drinks (non alcoholic) expensive?
The prices were pretty similar to any other festival I’ve been to. Burgers were ~$6, pizza was ~$5. There wasn’t a huge selection of beverages (either alcoholic or non-alcoholic)- I’d bring your own supply.
5. How long did it take to get your bracelet in the mail after you ordered it?
I’m not sure about this one. The organizers wait until a month or two before the festival to start shipping wristbands. Once the bands are in the mail, they could take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to arrive.
6. Was Tomorrowworld easy to find because I plan on driving (if you drove there)?
From what I remember we just plugged in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia into the phone GPS and off we went. We just followed the signs when we got closer to the venue and were directed into one of the two parking lots.
