Electric Zoo Festival

Well this was a very weird Electric Zoo indeed. As I’m sure 99% of you have heard, day 3 of Electric Zoo was cancelled by New York City officials in lieu of 2 drug-related deaths. Shocking, I know. Huffington Post did a nice writeup here if you’re interested in reading more.

Despite the tragic events that took place on the second day (and the onslaught of news fallout that’s taken place since), Electric Zoo 2013 was incredible. Check out the highlights and photos from this year’s event below:

Highlights & Memories from EZoo 2013:

  • Cost of a bottle of water: $4
  • Cost to refill a bottle of water: FREE
  • Best food stall: Pizza (though $10? are you serious?) (Runner up: Pad Thai bowls)
  • Best drink stall: Lemonade ($5)
  • Smartest move by festival organizers: Spraying down the crowd with water guns during performances
  • Stupidest move by festival organizers: Only running a handful of ferries to and from Randall’s Island, especially at night. The line at 11:30 PM was absolutely ridiculous. Our group actually chose to walk instead of wait to take the ferry.
  • Top food/drink items we remembered to bring: gum, empty water bottles to refill, granola bars, 5-hour energy shots, chocolate chip cookies
  • Top costume items: neon Bermuda shirts, Bermuda flags, sunglasses, close-toed shoes
  • Craziest performance: Baauer
  • Most memorable performance: Flux Pavilion
