Prepare your liver. Rapidly becoming a staple party game, Slap Cup will challenge your coordination, reflexes and ability to chug disgusting amounts of various poisons. If you love throwing balls and drinking, you’ll like this one.

  • Arrange solo cups on a table and fill each cup several-fingers-full with your favorite beverage. This game works with beer, wine, Twisted Tea, mixed drinks, you name it. Just be ready to drink whatever you pour without hesitation.
  • Chose one cup to be the Death Cup. Fill all the way to the top. This is the loser’s cup, as I will explain in a bit.
  • Find 2 beer pong balls and 2 empty solo cups.
  • Instruct participants to stand around the table. Pick 2 individuals on either side of the table to start- each is given a ball and an empty cup, which they should put in front of them on the table.
  • On “GO!” the 2 people holding balls commence trying to bounce their ball into their empty cup. There is no “correct” way of doing this and I’ve seen people get pretty creative with angles/trajectories. The only requirement is that the ball must leave the hand, bounce on the table and then land in the cup. Watch out for uneven tables.
  • Now, there’s two things that can happen.
    1. The person gets the ball in the cup on the first attempt. When this occurs that person can give their empty cup to ANYONE around the table. This new person must then begin trying to sink the cup.
    2. The person DOES NOT get the ball in the cup on the first attempt. When this occurs that person MUST give their empty cup to the person standing to their left.
  • The game progresses as essentially a race to get the ball in the cup faster than everyone else. Cups travel clockwise around the table, unless the cup is sunk on the first time in which case it can be passed to anyone.
  • So when does the drinking begin? Let’s say you and the person to your right both have empty cups and balls. If the person to your right sinks their cup BEFORE you do they must immediately SLAP your empty cup. Basically, this means you suck, and as a result, you have to grab a cup from the center, chug it, and then start trying to sink this new cup. Leave the cup that was smacked off the table on the ground.
  • The person to your right (who just beat you to sink) passes their empty cup and ball to the person immediately to your left.
  • The key is that successful first attempts can move an empty cup and ball anywhere on the table. This means you can repeatedly “target” a particularly bad/drunk player who is struggling to sink their ball by passing an empty cup to the person to their right.
  • Play progresses until only the full Death Cup remains. This goes to the final SLAP victim.

Slap Cup is great because there’s almost always that one person who gets ganged up on. This quickly becomes a hilarious way to get him or her absolutely wasted. Always be weary of the people standing to your right and left; if possible, try to position yourself to the left of someone with absolutely no hand-eye coordination.
